Erik den Uijl and Johan Paap invite you to Greek music.
A little story about a musical meeting, related to Eriks bouzouki.
In 1987 he bought his first bouzouki while on holiday on the isle of Rhodes.
A few years later, Erik, by then seriously in love with the instrument and again on holiday, but on the isle of Corfu this time, decided to indulge himself and bought a new bouzouki.
So he set out to Corfu-town, where, at some point he met a man carrying a bouzouki case. This man, Spiros Mertiris, turned out to be a bouzouki teacher at Corfu-town conservatory. Erik introduced himself to Spiros, who became a good friend and a great source of musical inspiration.
